Knowledge deficit related to lack of information about disease processes and self-care

Goal : Clients are met in the information about hypertension

Nursing Intervention:

  • Explain the nature and purpose of disease treatment and procedures
  • Explain the importance of a peaceful environment, not stressful
  • Discuss about the drug name, dosage, time of administration, purpose and side effects or toxic effects
  • Explain the need to avoid the use of free drug without a doctor’s examination
  • Discuss symptoms of relapse or progression of complications to be reported doctor: headache, dizziness, fainting, nausea and vomiting.
  • Discuss the importance of maintaining a stable weight
  • Discuss the importance of avoiding fatigue and weight lifting
  • Discuss the need for low-calorie diets, low sodium to order
  • Explain the importance of maintaining proper fluid intake, the amount allowed, the restriction that contain caffeine such as coffee, tea and alcohol
  • Explain the need to avoid constipation and detention
